The goal of this Web Site is to provide information about music activities by Jake Epstein and associated musicians, groups and organizations.
Jacob (Jake) Epstein is a musician, composer/aranger, recording artists, educator and author located in Greater New Haven, Connecticut. He is presently semi-retired from RECOL, LLC, an Internet services company he helped found in 1995. Beyond special projects and other tasks he still manages for the company, he actively performs and composes music. Although primarily known for his work in various genres and styles of Jazz and allied music such as Latin and Brazilian music, he also is involved in projects that supports music ranging from opera and chamber music to world music,

Site Technical Notes
This is a static site which means that there are no dynamic elements such as database back ends and content management (CMS). It is maintained by Jake Epstein using the Adobe Dreamweaver editor and manual HTML coding. Some javascript such the sites menus are implemented. The site sets no cookies on user machines.
Although Jake has developed and used dynamic web site software for personal and customer solutions and has worked with three of the leading content management solutions: Joomla/Mambo, Drupal and Wordpress, he has opted to implement this sight using the static approach. The primary goal is to minimize security risks and reduce the maintenance responsibilities associated with CMS sites driven by back end SQL servers.
RECOL, LLC operates a state of the art Data and Hosting center protected by elaborate physical and logical (network) security policies. Content is loaded to the WEB site through a VPN connection so that the public Internet access is tightly controlled through RECOL's Cisco security implementation.
Although precautions have been taken to maximize safe operation on the server side, as with all solutions, it is highly recommended that user diligently implement security updates especially for their WEB browsers as provide by their manufactures. This is also important for other software and apps used to access Internet supported sites. For example Facebook, YouTube and other apps on desktops and mobile devices.
